At the moment I'm sort of lacking in the makeup department. Mostly during the week I'll go for the easy way with just brows and mascara, and in the weekend a light smoky with only one eyeshadow. Unfortunately this one turned out quite the disappointment, all because of one product…

The cool light of the season gives a kind of "Scandinavian movie" flair to my pics, but that doesn't help with keeping the morals up… Come on, summer is only a hundred days away!

I had decided to do something I very seldomly do: using a jumbo pencil as a coloured base (they are mostly short-lasting, and I hate that, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway). In this case, an Eyeko Fat Eye Stick that I got in a Birchbox. Epic fail! Despite using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance underneath, the makeup creased in less than 5 minutes. You can even see it in the pictures, which have been taken directly after I finished the look. Honestly, I was pretty pissed (even if you can only see it on closed eyes // I avoided shame because I'm not usually of the habit of falling asleep in public).
I still liked the look, in part because that Kiko eyeshadow is a favourite from my collection. Then again a light smoky eye is the easiest, life-proofed matches-anything makeup!

Face: MAC Face&Body N1, MAC Prolongwear Concealer NC15, Soap&Glory One Heck Of A Blot, stick blush Kiko Pink Flamingo, powder blush MAC True Romantic, Soap&Glory Archery Brow Pencil teinte Blondeshell (my new eyebrow must-have).
Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Eyeko Fat Eye Stick (Satin), fard Kiko 116 (used wet in the outer corner), mascara LCDP Pro's Couture Prodigious Volume.
Lips: Kiko 900 lipstick.

I hate that kind of bad surprises… I'm really not a fan of jumbo pencils for the eyes! Do you have any better recommendation? Maybe I could change my mind…
